An account is a privileged identity on a database, server, cluster, or cloud provider, such as a database superuser or a domain admin, that people and AI agents use through Infisical. Infisical stores the account’s credential along with the details it needs to reach the target. When someone connects, a gateway supplies the credential, so whoever connects never sees it. Each account belongs to one folder. A role on the folder gives access to every account in it, and you can also give someone a role on a single account. Each account also uses one account template, which sets the account type and the rules for its sessions.
